How To Mend The Holes In Google Sniper
The recently released Google Sniper course by George Brown has gotten an excellent critical reception. It teaches readers how to create an empire of small websites that pull in money. While Google Sniper works, it does omit teaching one critical area of SEO, but you can fill in that knowledge gap with this article.
The basics of Google Sniper involve picking a low competition keyword, writing content to fit that keyword theme, using good on page SEO, and finishing up with a review or story to market your product. George provides more than enough info on those areas. However, the system revolves around the assumption that your chosen keyword’s level of competition is low enough that you will rank naturally without engaging in any link building.
As anyone with any experience in internet marketing can tell you, choosing keywords that accurately is not easy to do. Often, a Google Sniper site made by a newbie will land on the second or third page of Google, which rarely sees enough traffic to get any sales.
How can we recover from this mistake?
Well, standard SEO doctrine says it’s link building time. Well, you’ve got a problem, because George hates link building, so he doesn’t really talk much about it. Given that issue, I thought I’d give you a quick primer on some basic ways of link building here.
1. Social Bookmarking: George covers what you need to know about this. Don’t rely too much on these, most bookmarking sites are no-follow, which means that they’re not worth much in Google’s eyes.
2. Link Wheels: This involves making a bunch of web 2.0 blogs that link to each other in a circle, and then pointing a link from all of them to your money site. You can find more info by Googling “linkwheel”.
3. Profile Links: Many high page rank sites allow users to create personal profiles on their site, and often include an area where you can place a link. MTV.com and TED.com are good examples of this type of site.
4. Blog Commenting: This involves seeking out relevant blogs and posting a comment, using your keywords for your name and placing the page you want to link back to in the URL field. It is important when doing this to actually read the blog post and make an intelligent, relevant comment, otherwise the comment will most likely be deleted.
5. Article Submission: Write high-quality articles and submit them to reputable article directories. You get a resource box at the end of your article where you can put a short bio or a call to action followed by a link to your money site. Not only do you get a backlink out of this, but these articles usually rank well in Google, so you’ll get some traffic out of the deal too.
These 5 techniques provide the backbone of link building, and you can use them to get great Google rankings, even with stiff competition. With this knowledge, you’ve now filled the only major gap in the Google Sniper system, and you’re ready to take the internet by storm. Hurry up and get started building those sniper sites, your internet fortune is waiting!
